Understanding the Value of Art: Free Informational Session

For years now Art has been developing within our borders and it has taken a considerable step ahead but this knowledge has been limited and thus the further steps in evolving it have been dawdling. It is our goal to hep share this knowledge with the public so the growth and understanding of art can be increased. On the 10 th of November an information session will be hosted at the COTA Theatre School. The event will be starting from 2pm to 5pm and entrance will be free to the public. Call for Exhibiting Artists!

Calling all Namibian artists! If you do visual art, installation art, literature, digital art, traditional arts and crafts, or performance art, we are now accepting submissions for the upcoming Namibia Art Fair. To register, you can visit our website,  www.namartsfair.com , and go to the Register & Apply page or go to the registration form directly through the link below. You'll get real-world experience working with our festival team as well as our artists. Internships are open to college students of all years, both undergraduate and graduate. While the internships are unpaid, they offer the interns valuable experience in a professional working setting and the opportunity to expand their network within the Windhoek, Namibia community. Partner Feature: The Power Pad Girls

The Power Pad Girls, are an intersectional feminist organisation that raise money to buy reusable pads for school girls who can't afford them. Thousands of Namibian school girls miss an average of 3 school days a month because they can’t afford menstrual products, and that has a knock on effect on the quality of education that they receive. Girls use pieces from old mattresses, newspapers and in some cases leaves to catch their menses. Who They Are We are a group of likeminded young Namibian women in our 20s who believe that no girl should miss out on school because she cannot afford menstrual products.,Since 2015, we have raised more than N$40000 for this cause and have had our pads delivered to girls across the country in partnership with Sister Namibia’s Sister Pad Project who supply the pad kit - which includes two reusable pads and four inlays cost all for the cost N$150. This will be an arts showdown like Namibia has never seen before at the Arts Fair Battle Royale ! Ramatoulie Sallah-Muhammed - Event Organizer Ramatoulie Sallah-Muhammed aka Rahma the Bass is a multi-disciplinary artist, who performs as Rahma the Bass. She has organized many Namibian events, and has worked in festivals, events and conventions in both the U.S. and Namibia as a vendor, workshop presenter and organizer. She is a vocalist, song-writer and her instrument of choice is either the double bass or the bass guitar (hence the name).
