Interview with Foibe Amundaba

Foibe Amundaba will be hosting a Recycled Jewelry Workshop at the Namibia Art Fair at 11:00am at the Goethe Institut. We caught up with her to ask some questions about herself and the work she does with jewelry and fine art. Foibe Amundaba - Jewelry Workshop Lecturer What are you currently working on? Elevation Through Art Expression with Larry Kazombiaze

Join us on the 28th of July at 10am for Elevation through Art Expression! The main aim of the workshop is to educate and assist artists in finding new forms of expression in order to combat social issues in their community such as gender based violence and alcoholism. Participants will be taught how to focus their art talents through the improvement of their skills and educating others. Larry with the President of Namibia, Dr. Hage Geingob, showcasing some of his portrait artwork. No event is complete without the event coordinator and the Arts Fair is no exception. Samuel Matengu, artist name SkySam is a crucial part of our team, and we would not be able to acheive what we do without him. Instructor - Haymich Olivier Event Description Award-winning Namibian Choreographer, Dancer, and Dance Educator, Haymich Olivier has more than a decade of experience in the field. Namibia Arts Fair featured on NBC News

We are delighted that the Namibia Arts Fair was featured on NBC News! Two of our workshop lecturers, Este Wiggil (calabash carving) and John Kalunda (mixed media painting) were featured at their studios discussing how it is possible to make a living from art, and how local cultural organizations help facilitate the showcasing and sale of Namibian Art.
